Pre-Workshop: College Chat with Female STEM Students from Spelman, GA Tech, & UGA

Workshop 1 (Robotics and Coding): This workshop will introduce participants to coding, robotics, and technology. This experience will help to build the student's confidence as the presenter demonstrates the coding language used to control the robot and discuss the technology behind the robot in a way they can relate to. Humanoid Robotics covers topics spanning many disciplines. The demonstration will spark the imaginations of students by exposing them to a great example of the application.

Workshop 2 (STEM Leadership and Mentoring): Formal mentoring session will occur during the lunch hour. Students will be partnered with adult mentors who are actively engaged in a STEM field.  During the session students will learn about different STEM fields and will develop a mentoring action plan:

Workshop 3 (21St Century Public Health and Medicine):  This workshop will gain understanding of emerging opportunities in public health, healthcare, and population health improvement from a physician who has over 25 years of medical experience.  With so many medical careers available, students have plenty to pursue: nurse, doctor, surgeon, physical therapist, massage therapist, nutritionist, dentist, psychiatrist, pediatrician, athletic trainer – and those are just a few!
